WE BROUGHT TOGETHER GEORGE FLOYD’S FAMILY & RODNEY KING’S FAMILY FOR THE FIRST TIME IN HISTORY
The entire world witnessed what happened to George Floyd in 2020 and to Rodney King in 1991. While there are many ways to make this political and divisive, families’ lives were changed forever, something none of them asked for. Seeking out the full story, we found something truly heartbreaking.
The community of the Human Gathering wanted to do something that would bring healing to each family and tell their story in a way that had never been told before. Both families and Human Gathering members came together in Washington D.C. and enjoyed a tour of The Smithsonian Museum of African American History and Culture. This truly was a historic experience that opened the door to healing and connection.
GOOD MORNING AMERICA came along to film the entire experience. They had a sit-down conversation with each family’s leader and broadcasted it on national television for the world to see:
